What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the founder and CEO of Essence of Being, Inc. and the Healing Forest Foundation. For more than 37 years, I've helped thousands of men, women, children, and companies globally with emotional and spiritual healing, self-development, communication techniques, relationships, abundance, team building, and leadership development. My specialty is helping people identify their "Bubble Talk" — subconscious negative self-talk that blocks them from achieving what they want in life.
Tell us about yourself
Wanting to make a difference. I started by helping actors get in touch with their emotions. And it grew from there.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I've made it 30 years. And changed thousands of people's lives and taught live transformational workshops on six continents. We built the Conscious Leadership Academy, a school in Liberia, Africa.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Having the discipline to do the things I need to do when I don't want to do them. Also, managing all of the operations and people with all the different personalities and guiding the ship.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be clear about what your WHY is. Because without the motivation of why you're doing what you're doing, you can easily lose motivation and focus.
- Make sure that you leverage your resources and network and realize you don't have to do everything yourself.
- Don't sweat the small stuff.
