What's your business, and who are your customers?
We make Handcrafted Bath, Body, Home fragrances, and Jewelry. Our customers are typically well-established professional women (40+) who love to treat themselves to personal care and other personal rewards.
Tell us about yourself
I started researching Bath and Body DIY projects as a hobby and turned it into a small side business 12 years ago. Since that time, I have become disabled and am still able to create new products. Last year I began making Handcrafted Jewelry, and I am very happy to have extensive offerings.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would have to say building strong personal relationships with friends, customers, and prospects. I absolutely love creating products that are pleasing to others, and I enjoy the encouragement, feedback, and recommendations to my business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Lack of funding and COVID 19 seeing an unpredictable decrease in sales. Our current situation with increases in costs included Increased postage materials etc.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Research the current marketing trends and limit production to small batches (rather than investing in large quantities). Learn to be aware of fluctuations in times of financial crisis like currently and plan accordingly even sourcing materials is becoming increasingly challenging.
