Shape Your Life the Way You Want - Erschaffe dich neu

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Deniz Deke, Founder of Erschaffe dich neu Ltd., located in Livadia, Larnaca, Cyprus.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are helping you to get going in areas in life that are lacking. We are breaking your procrastination with a highly personalized coaching approach. Our customers are in the German-speaking market, and we are currently one of the biggest companies in this niche. (5 Mio in revenue per year)

Tell us about yourself

After a breakup, I found myself trying to get out of my rut. Personal development really helped me. I decided to write about it, and this blog became our company today. I really love the challenges of growing something big. The daily grind, the challenges you face, and the satisfaction of hitting a goal that seemed unattainable a few years ago, that really drives me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a bootstrapped company that makes over 5 Mio in revenue per year, building a team that got your back, even when you are away from the business. Looking at all the lives we changed, that's pretty cool.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You have to make a lot of hard choices and sacrifices to be really successful in business. Playing PlayStation all week, partying, being with friends and family all the time... if you want to build something big, there is not much room for anything else.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't marry your idea. Your idea always looks good. It's like a mother having a child. But guess what: there are a lot of ugly babies out there. Accept that your idea can be ugly and change it along the way. Most companies started with something completely different.
  2. You can't fail. Failing means you stop trying. I have never seen anybody that kept going, adjusted, and didn't make it. At some point, you will make it. It's more persistence than anything else.
  3. You don't have to start big. Start small. Start a blog or whatever. Try it on the side. Let it grow. The common myth that you have to burn all the boats and go bankrupt seven times... it's nonsense. You can be smart and start a side hustle first. And with a little bit of tailwind, you can start burning your boats.
