What's your business, and who are your customers?

Errica's Treasures is a luxury handcrafted jewelry and retail boutique. Our treasures are created from genuine gemstones, beads, crystals, metals, fabrics, and other materials, along with limited signature candles and ready-to-wear apparel. Our customers, who are absolutely amazing, are those who want to set precedence amongst others with treasures that are unique to their style and are not found anywhere else, as each treasure is handcrafted by me, Errica.

Tell us about yourself

I began Errica's Treasures as a means to create products that were unique to me. I have always had an affinity for fashion and jewelry. I wanted to create products that were classic, profound, yet unique to the individual styles that we as women journey on throughout our everyday life. From possibly dressing for Corporate America, to football mom or gymnast mom, to date night with your significant other or girlfriends to the self-care moment, we transform our style daily to accommodate the moments happening in our lives. Jewelry can represent our personality and character no matter the occasion, and it doesn't hurt to jazz up our attire while doing so. Most recently, I extended my jewelry line to waist beads as an affirmation of self-love and self-awareness of our bodies.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment believes in myself. As a business owner, the journey can be tough because there are highs and lows during this journey. Knowing that I did not give up on myself is what makes me feel accomplished. Without faith, I would not have been able to believe in myself. My purpose in having Errica's Treasures is bigger than myself; thus, I have to keep believing in myself.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is consistency. It is tough being consistent as I navigate every job possible for my business, work in Corporate America, go to school in the evening, and find a sense of self for myself. It all can be exhausting mentally and physically, but the push to be consistent with my business must be there.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just get started! Don't seek perfection. Don't look for the right time. Don't wait to save x amount of money. Just do it. As you evolve, so will all aspects of your business; therefore, just get started.
  2. Don't allow anyone or anything to discourage you from starting or continuing your business. Remember, everyone doesn't understand the method of your madness but you, and that is okay. As long as you believe that what product or service you are providing will be successful, that is all that matters.
  3. Be patient. If you are seeking to start a business to become a billionaire, then being a business owner may not be for you. Many of us want billions, but it takes time and patience. There are days that you may not be motivated or may not make sales. Don't give up. Be patient to know that your time is coming to grow, and so will the money. Owning a business is about finding a solution to a problem and servicing your customers who need the solution. The money will come afterward.

I am proud of where Errica's Treasures began, where it currently is, and where I am taking the business. I appreciate all of my customers and partners who have helped Errica's Treasures to be where it is today.
