What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a small, locally-owned gym and personal training business. Our clients are people from all walks of life who are committed to a healthy, active lifestyle that includes exercise and proper nutrition.

Tell us about yourself

I have always been passionate about health and fitness and wanted to start a business that reflects my ideologies. I wanted to create a gym where everyone would feel comfortable, regardless of their fitness levels, age, body type, etc. I enjoy going to work every day because I have the opportunity to help people change their lives in a positive way.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Creating a gym that has lasted 12 years and has so many loyal and supportive members.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Dealing with things like COVID or downturns in the economy can really affect a small business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you have a solid business plan before you start.
  2. If you're in a relationship, make sure you have a supportive partner and family.
  3. Realize that it's going to take time to get established. You're going to have bad days that will make you question yourself, but stick it out and keep plugging away.
