Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Eric Beschinski, founder of Greenfire Innovations, LLC, located in Valparaiso, IN, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Navigation Consultant, B2B Missionary, and Enemy of Mediocrity. I call myself by a variety of titles, but I try to avoid "business coach" or "business consultant." They simply do not accurately capture the essence of what I do. Business leaders hire me to align their businesses with their calling. So, I propel you into radical clarity with a powerful mindset and a focused plan to reach your next Ideal Destination. Here is the key outcome: my clients are empowered through a methodology that is unique, visual, and systematic. I'm able to get you fully aligned with your calling so you can OVERFLOW with meaningful impact for the world through your business.
Tell us about yourself
Years ago, I noticed that there was no cohesive, systematic, visual approach to strategic planning. So, I created it. My framework is fresh and innovative despite being built on the foundation of traditional strategic planning concepts that have existed for decades. When the pandemic hit, I was furloughed from my job, and then it was eliminated altogether. I decided to view that as an opportunity to jump headfirst into the business I had wanted to build for over ten years. I launched my business full-time in late 2019 by writing my first book, the iNautilus Guide for Organizational Navigation. Although I'm still in the building phase, I now have a robust program offering that can catapult business owners into "success," whatever that might mean for them. Every day I'm reminded of my calling: My purpose is to help other people find and fulfill their higher purpose. Not only does that motivate me, but it excites me! I love working with entrepreneurs to discover their purpose and a plan to execute an incredible vision!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Right now, my biggest accomplishment is the TEDx presentation I delivered on Jan 20, 2023. A TED Talk was on my bucket list, and now I have achieved that goal. Previously, gaining International Bestselling Author status for my contribution to Cracking the Rich Code by Jim Britt and Kevin Harrington was/is one of the accomplishments of which I am most proud (that book was also endorsed by Tony Robbins).
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Focus. Staying focused is one of the hardest skills to learn and maintain. Starting, growing, or leading a business is virtually synonymous with being pulled in many directions. Knowing what is important (such as working ON the business) and devoting time to those items is crucial. However, so many business owners jump from fire to fire, never actually doing what really needs to be done. We all struggle with this at times, but being cognizant of it and "righting the ship" when it happens is something not all business owners do well.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My top 3 tips for business owners are:
- Find, follow, and finish a system. Systems are the solution to almost any problem, so they need to be the go-to answer when we find ourselves facing an issue.
- Know your purpose. If you understand WHY you are in business (not for the product/service, the money, or even just to serve the customer), then when struggles arise, you will not be demotivated or demoralized. Your purpose will be so paramount that you have no choice but to keep moving.
- Choose an Ideal Destination. Without an Ideal Destination (a detailed vision of what you want the company to look like in 5-10 years), you will likely just be "wandering." Very rarely, if ever, does anyone ever reach a paradise island by wandering the seas. Know where you want to go, develop a plan to get there, and execute.
