What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is an online consciousness school where I offer one-on-one coaching for business owners, online classes, books, and my podcast, "The Mindful Experiment." The main purpose of my business is to help individuals realize how we have the power to change and choose the lives we want to experience truly. I help people do this by utilizing and understanding concepts of spiritual truths (things shared 4,000 to 5,000 years old), neuroscience, quantum physics, and peak performance.
The main goal is to have business owners and individuals understand, "You can have your cake and eat it too." We can choose to be financially successful and have a successful business without sacrificing time, money, health, or family.
We don't have to grind, hustle, get less sleep, outwork our competition, or put in 80-100 hours a week to be successful. The Universe, Nature, and our Bodies do not work this way. They follow the Law of Least Effort, and this is what I share and teach to help people make more while working less.
Tell us about yourself
I am someone who has been awe-inspired about life at an early age and wanted to know the interworking of how life works. When I was 12 years old, I told my mom I would figure out this thing we call "Life." Now, the reason for that was not something uplifting. Because of that age, I couldn't understand why my upbringing in a blue-collar family, blue-collar community, some would have money and some wouldn't. Some of my friends had a lot of toys, and I only had a couple. I saw some people happy and some not so much. It was that part where I wanted to learn how to not have the same experiences as my childhood and learn how I could truly be a happy individual. So, with my curiosity about life and always wanting to learn, I set myself on a journey at the age of 18-19 to do just that. This was the foundation for creating my coaching business 16-17 years later.
This is what continues to inspire me to wake up every morning is being able to help one person realize their true potential. To help one person realize the power that they have within. To help one person realize how powerful they truly are, how valued they are, and how important it is to have them in this world. It inspires me because I didn't have this growing up as much, and I wish I did know this information when I was younger.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have earned many awards, reached my financial peak, and so much, but I will say this, the biggest accomplishment is choosing what success means to me, doing it on my terms, and experiencing it. Too many times, we follow successful people and want to be successful, so we do everything they tell us what success is and what it looks like. There is nothing wrong with this BUT what we don't realize is that we have our own unique ways of doing things and what is important to us.
After five years of running my Chiropractic business to where we hit a financial peak and a goal I was amazed at financially, I realized I was not fulfilled. I was not happy with where I was in my life. So what I ended up doing was revamping my entire life and truly understanding with some deep soul-seeking; what did I truly want to choose to experience? What did I want to feel every day, and what mattered most to me? I ended up working 50% less than what I was currently doing at that time, and I ended up making more. I was able to create the life I wanted, choosing how I wanted to do it and making that a reality for me.
For me, that is the biggest success because I learned and realized the true power I have within, how I choose and create my experiences in life, and I harness everything I knew at that time (power of the mind, leveraging one's mindset, quantum physics, universal laws, spiritual truths) and put it into action to create what I call, "Having my cake and eating it too."
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that I believe comes with being a business owner is facing your inner critic and putting yourself out there all the time. Business is a by-product of yourself. What you experience in business is what we need to grow and evolve within our personal life.
When I wanted to communicate better in my relationship with my wife to take our relationship to higher levels, what ended up happening was what I learned there helped me in my business and many other aspects.
We need to work on ourselves to achieve higher levels of success continually, and what we do in one area of our life, we do in all.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The first thing is to have a vision of where you want to go in your life in the next 5 years, 10 years, or 20 years. Who do you want to BE? Focus on this part with the vision.
The second thing is to focus on the small, little successes every day. Be grateful for what you can do on that day. Don't sweat; you are not where you want to be, or you are not hitting your goal, or the gap to be there is so far. Take one single step at a time. Understand the Law of Compounding Effects and that little work daily becomes big things down the road.
Learn to tap into your feelings; I don't mean your emotions. Too often, business owners are stuck in their heads and trying to figure things out. This is not the best use of our time or power. When we use our logical mind, we are using force which takes a ton of work to achieve something or get to a specific point where you are going. Instead, FEEL within your body, like utilizing your intuition to guide you. The right side of your brain computes over a million processes every single second. You don't need to know why you feel good about doing something or making this choice. As long as you just know that feeling, you will be guided to what serves your vision and higher self.
When I did the third part, I grew in all areas of my life, learned more in one year compared to what I did in the past 5, and led a fulfilled and soul-filled life.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Always know one thing. The Universe/God will always show you where your most pressing thoughts, emotions, and what you focus on. If you focus on your vision, you will have things show up that align and lead you closer to it. If you are not, you will see things show up that are not moving you towards there. Make sure that when you create a vision or focus on where you want to go, you only focus on that, not the opposite.
An example of this would be, I want to make a million dollars. And when you ask the person why, they will tell you because then, I can pay off my debt, buy things, and so forth. Notice their focus is on the debt. They need to pay it off. Since they focus on the debt, no matter what they do, they will experience debt because that is where their thoughts, emotions, and focus are. Instead, just focus on what you want and see yourself moving towards it.
