What's your business, and who are your customers?
Eleven Seven Media is a digital marketing agency based in Boston, MA. Using both creativity and analytical insights, we develop content and social media strategies for small, local businesses in and around Boston & New England.
Tell us about yourself
As a well-known food and lifestyle creator in Boston (@bostonfoodjournal), I have first-hand experience creating and executing digital campaigns for businesses like AmazonFresh, Citizens Bank, Pringles, Lexus, and more.
In 2014, I graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a biomedical engineering degree, and in an effort to fuse business with technology, I worked as a technical applications project manager for multiple years before making the leap into digital marketing.
I started Eleven Seven Media in late 2019 and have been growing the business ever since. Each day, I am driven by my passion for creating and using my creativity to help businesses succeed.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is adding value to my clients' businesses. Whether it be increased local reach or increased sales, I feel most proud when I am able to help my clients succeed through the power of social media marketing.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Everything! Owning a business is so hard, and I truly feel like I learn something new every day.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't be afraid. If you're passionate about your craft, just do it. The only thing holding you back is yourself.
- It's okay to make mistakes, just use them as a teaching mechanism and remember them for the next time.
- Prioritize your work/life balance. When you work for yourself, it's really hard to set boundaries. I'm still working on this two years later, but I can now see how important it is. Make sure you block off time for yourself and don't forget about your own passions and hobbies.
