What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are Elemental Mystique! A collection of gemstones and handcrafted crystal jewelry, including rings, earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Our customers are those on their healing journey looking to incorporate crystals into their spiritual practice.

Tell us about yourself

I began wire-wrapping crystal jewelry when I was in high school. The more jewelry I made, the more my love for this art continued to grow! In 2020 I started making crystal jewelry for my friends and family, who encouraged me to sell my art. By the end of 2020, we launched our website for Elemental Mystique and have been selling crystals and jewelry ever since! My love and admiration for the beneficial properties of crystals motivate me to continue spreading this healing through my business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is seeing how our audience grows! Each year we continue to venture into new growth opportunities, such as meeting our customers face-to-face at Artisan markets and expanding to offer international shipping! We've also hit some huge milestones with our social media following, which allows us to reach people all over the world. This past year we've sold our products in over 10 different countries across the globe!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest parts that comes with being a business owner is struggling with self-doubt. There's only two people behind the curtain of our business, which means we hold the many titles of marketer, photographer, accountant, model, etc. All of this on top of creating our product means we can sometimes spread ourselves thin, leading to burnout. I think it's important to remember to take care of yourself first! Give yourself love and be your own biggest fan.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My first tip would be to try not to compare yourself to others - we're all on our own paths, and no two paths will look the same. Take inspiration from the people around you and use it to build yourself up. My second tip would be to take things one step at a time. Your product will evolve and change as you learn what your audience resonates with. Go with the flow, and your growth will come naturally. My last tip would be to make sure you love what you do! Have fun with your business, and keep spreading what you love to the world.
