What's your business, and who are your customers?
Elemental Aerial Arts is an aerial arts company. I offer unique performances that beautifully connect nature and aerial arts and teach classes in aerial arts. If you are looking to take flight yourself or to book an unforgettable performance for your next event, I look forward to working with you.
Tell us about yourself
I started aerial dance training on a whim and fell in love immediately with the art form. As a lover of nature and movement, Elemental Aerial Arts is an extension of my creative self.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I recently rebranded my business to further align my creative vision, connecting nature and aerial arts. It was a bit scary to put myself out there initially, but the support has been wonderful. I am also a single mother business owner, which isn't always easy, but it has been incredibly rewarding to lead by example and follow my dreams while raising such amazing people.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest challenge I face as a business owner changes each day, just like my schedule. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work to keep organized and ready for events. Financial instability and uncertainty in demand--especially through the pandemic-has been hard.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Growing a business can be all-consuming, so set clear boundaries for your own personal time apart from your business. Take time to reassess as you grow, and don't be afraid to change directions as you discover more. Finally, be kind to others and don't be afraid to ask for help.
