What's your business, and who are your customers?
IT ALL STARTS WITH YOU.
At Ela Lani, we believe in the power of self-care.
Self-care is how you connect with yourself on a mind, body, and spirit level, so you can relate to the world around you with happiness that comes from knowing and loving who you are. We provide hair care/styling services, Botox/Dysport, fillers, and massage services.
Tell us about yourself
I am a Hair Extensions Specialist, Natural Hair Advocate, Healthy Hair Educator, Speaker, and Ela Lani Hair Extensions And Salon Chief Executive Officer.
With my career that spanned several continents, plus a long list of the runway, and bridal gigs, I have gained accolades from working with an array of international clients from News and television journalists, professionals, runway models, social media influencers, and a mermaid known as the @hfxmermaid.
In addition to lengthening hair, adding volume, and giving added confidence, I spend a lot of time teaching behind the chair and on stage.
Having a strong fashion focus along with Ela Lani's core values, I share their commitment to product performance, environmental responsibility, and sustainability. My passion for natural hair education and commitment to providing the highest quality in tailored hair extension methods, education, and product understanding has given me my role as a specialist in this field.
With my vast experience and knowledge from the Australian College Of Hair Design And Beauty and over ten years of working in the industry, I sought out the best in Halifax, collaborating to create and deliver great natural hairstyles, inspiration, and insight into all aspects of hair at Ela Lani Hair Salon and Med Spa.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is bouncing back after the pandemic forced us to close for almost two years and coming back to create more styling stations and a great team by including spa services.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Finding the perfect work-life balance.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
You are absolutely capable, so don't give up on yourself
