Understand, Share, and Address - EIMHE

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jefferson Roc, Founder of EIMHE, located in Calgary, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

EIMHE is a peer-to-peer tool augmented by AI to build emotional intelligence and help people manage their mental health. It is an enterprise SAAS product companies purchase for their employees to use among themselves and their loved ones. It helps people with identifying, sharing, understanding, and addressing feelings through the science of non-violent communication and cognitive-behavioral change.

Tell us about yourself

After going through my own experience with mental health challenges, I became panicked at the thought of my kids going through the same dark moments. I quickly realized no one is sheltered, and something must be done to make mental illness less isolating, more collaborative, and participative while easing the access to personalized solutions.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I was able to convince a very strong advisory group to support our vision. Furthermore, we are recognized as a health innovation through Alberta Innovates and onboarded a medical technology accelerator.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Dealing with rejection and keeping consistent efforts.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Make sure you have a strong reason to pursue any business idea. When things get tough, your ''why'' may be the only thing keeping you going. Surround yourself with capable individuals and advisors who've done it before, not friends you get along with. Lastly, keep your customer close at every step of your maturity journey, from ideation to customer service.
