What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Financial Wellness Coach, and I help my clients become confident and comfortable with their money! I work mostly with couples, but I am happy to work with individuals looking to pay off debt, build their savings, and feel good about where they spend their money.

Tell us about yourself

I grew up very poor and felt stressed about money for most of my life. This drove me to learn about finances on my own because, unfortunately, financial wellness is not taught in schools. I know what it's like to constantly worry about money, and I know what it's like to feel good about my financial health. Feeling confident in where I am financially allowed me to be a happier, healthier person, and that's what I want for my clients! I helped friends and family get their finances organized and debt paid down long before I started my business.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I feel like just starting this business was a huge accomplishment since I have never done anything like this before! But in my business, I have worked with couples who have told me their work with me has helped save their marriage, which means so much to me. My passion is helping couples feel more comfortable talking about money with each other and helping them create shared goals.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Knowing how best to market and get my name out there has probably been my biggest challenge. And finding enough time to work on my business is also challenging since it's just me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Prepare to put in a LOT of time and work into your business! Prepare to have a great idea but not grow immediately; things take time. I have had people come to me for my services and say that they have been following me for 6 months and finally felt ready to start the work.
