Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Autumn Stewart, Co-Founder of Earheart.ai, located in Scottsdale, A.Z, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is an in-the-moment support app that utilizes intuitive eating principles and conversational AI. Essentially, we are on a mission to help users create and or maintain a healthy relationship with food. Most of our users are burnt out from dieting culture or are health conscious.
Tell us about yourself
In describing myself, I would say that I am a very compassionate and passionate individual. Each day, I am on a mission to motivate and encourage others to reach their full potential so that they can live more fulfilling life. I am captivated by others and love bringing out the best of them. My undergraduate background is in Psychology and Business. After spending years and feeling lost in Financial Services, I decided to pursue my MBA.
This past May, I graduated from the W.P. Carey School of Business with my MBA in Marketing, Leadership, and entrepreneurship. My experience in business school has only helped me find my calling and purpose. I didn't realize it then when I was back in school, but I know now that it led me to believe that I could join, start, or buy a business on my own or with a team.
I first started working on my business back in February when one of my past peers from high school reached out to me with a problem in mind and a way to solve it. Our product addresses a serious market gap, and I am excited to work on closing the gap and shifting current ideals around diet culture, body image, and eating. Above all, I'm motivated each day to help others create and maintain a healthy lifestyle and body image.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business owner, my biggest accomplishment is leading the team to success by helping us create and own a solid and motivating mission, vision, and values. These three things have helped our team create a context for how our strategy is created, evaluated, and implemented.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The biggest challenge as a business owner is rejection from others regarding the product. Not everyone will believe that there is a need for your product, but I've learned that this is okay.
We are making a product for specific users, and not everyone has the problem that we are trying to solve. If anything, this type of rejection helps us use innovation to iterate our product and make it better for our end users.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The three tips I have for those looking to start, run and grow their own business are to :
First, discover and find your passion. Think about what brings you sunshine every day so that your business is something that you wake up happy to pursue.
Second, I recommend forging a path on your own or with a team that involves innovation and creativity. There are so many great businesses in our world and, as a result, a lot of competition. Find a way to make your business stand out to your customer.
Lastly, I recommend creating a solid mission, vision, and values. This will help you stay grounded in making decisions for the business and creating a strategy that propels your venture forward.
