Simple. Creative. Effective. - E workbee Social Design
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in digital marketing but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Erika Fernandez, Online Community Director of E-workbee Social Design Inc, located in Calgary, AB, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are immensely grateful for being given a chance to showcase our business, E-workbee, on your website. Our marketing agency, located in Calgary, caters to small- and mid-sized businesses as well as individual consultants.
Tell us about yourself
Communication is my passion, and it was the focus of my first job as a TV Reporter in Venezuela. Unfortunately, due to difficulty in both career progression and raising my family - two lovely children, Danny and Marian - my husband and I decided to emigrate to Canada. After settling down and taking time for myself, I earned a Master's Degree in Communications and Technology at the University of Alberta and soon afterward established my own business.
My family is my primary motivator, followed closely by my passion for assisting entrepreneurs in their communication and marketing endeavours. Moreover, I am driven to be a better person and professional for my local, Canadian, and Venezuelan communities, despite the distance.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As a business proprietor, my greatest success has been the loyalty of customers who rely on my advice and implement my tactics. I take pride in the achievement of providing a customer with an exhaustive Amazon marketing scheme that earned them more than a hundred thousand dollars and an excellent reputation among high-profile corporations in the span of one year.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
During the COVID pandemic, being a business owner was no easy feat. I applied my expertise in journalism and marketing to offer my clients a chance to become more than just merchants - to become a part of their communities and be available for those in need. This meant I had to change the story behind their business, shifting the focus from solely selling to also offering assistance.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- To achieve success, it is essential to be aware of who your customers and audience are. Taking the time to talk to them, going to the places they go, and understanding their successes and failures can help you gain insight into their mindsets.
- Additionally, utilizing your competition as a source of inspiration to better capture the market can be invaluable.
- Lastly, staying abreast of the trends and seizing any chance to reinvent yourself are crucial steps to continued growth.
