Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jordan Mederich, Founder and CEO of DropFunnels, located in Osceola, WI, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

DropFunnels.com is an all-in-one sales funnel and marketing platform built on the power of WordPress. Our customers are consultants, coaches, course builders, and service providers. Essentially, anyone selling digital products online!

Tell us about yourself

My dad is a Pastor, and my mom was a teacher, very humble beginnings. So I knew that in order to change circumstances and experience success, I'd have to learn the business. So I started an award-winning video production company and created ads for Fortune 100 brands. But, when it came to building websites, sales funnels, or selling directly online, it was a huge hassle..., especially for someone who is non-technical. I was connecting sales funnel platforms to course platforms to upsell tools to pipelines and more... the whole house of cards was held together by duct tape. So I decided to build a SINGLE system that allowed me to sell almost ANYTHING and get the SEO and speed benefits of WordPress... and thus, DropFunnels was born!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Bootstrapping this business from zero to multiple 7-figures has been both rewarding and challenging. And now, I understand exactly what it takes to launch or scale nearly any company.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Regulating your own energy. Your energy falls to your team, your product, and ultimately your customers. Maintaining momentum, taking care of yourself, and keeping a positive culture is critical to business growth - and it's the single most underrated facet of growing a business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Sell it before you build it. You do NOT need a perfect product or even a finished product before you sell it. Collect the cash first, get customers first, and the rest will fall in place.
  2. Stay humble and kill your ego. There is always something you won't know, so be open and flexible to make decisions quickly and pivot where necessary.
  3. Don't build a product; build a movement. The community aspect of your product will propel it in a way you cannot buy.
