What's your business, and who are your customers?
Business Coaching and consulting company to chiropractors and other allied natural health practitioners.
Tell us about yourself
I am a doctor of chiropractic and ran a very successful practice that was created in my ideal. It involved working 25 hours/week, taking 10 to 12 weeks/year of holidays, and making a nice six-figure income. Many colleagues wanted to know how I manifested that, and the coaching business was formed to fulfill that need. I love seeing people reach their full potential in life and business, so I work diligently every day to help people do that.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Successfully raising five amazing daughters while running a very successful business. I am also very proud of the difference I have made in the thousands of business owners I have served over the years. I am very proud of never missing a payroll in 35 years of business.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Not knowing for sure where your next new client is coming from. The uncertainty of the future and not having a pension plan. The benefits of being your own boss and working when you want with whom you want far outweigh these negatives.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Create a proper business plan and trust that if the business you are intending cannot cash flow properly, you have the courage to abandon the idea.
- Recruit really good people.
- Start small and earn the right to leverage and scale.
