Brain and Body Solutions - Dr. Stephanie Rimka

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Stephanie Rimka, Principal of Brain and Body Solutions, located in Atlanta, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I stand as a truth-teller to help families that have been damaged in the traditional healthcare system via negligence, bad guidelines, or gaslighting. Families struggling with diagnoses such as Autism, ADHD, anxiety, panic, PTSD, and sleep disorders, as well as anyone looking for support with chronic issues from mold, Lyme, IBS, Crohn’s, diabetes, and other lifestyle disorders, are served from a holistic drug-free approach. My approach includes teaching how trauma and nervous system chaos are intimately connected to gut and hormonal health. I offer a wide variety of unique brain therapies that are permanent such as neurofeedback, transcranial direct electrical stimulation, and photobiomodulation. I am deeply animal-based and focus on teaching my patients what it means to be human.

Tell us about yourself

I have wanted to be a doctor and help people since I was at least three years old. I am consistently unconventional and knew that I would never be satisfied following rules or mandates from hospitals or large insurance agencies. Therefore, owning my own practices and never taking money from corrupt insurance companies is how I built several successful practices over the last 25 years on 100% referrals only.

The need to help people suffering from mental distress is only rising, so I am motivated to add more coaches and more services to help people avoid the pitfalls of lifelong sedation through medication.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

On the business side, I am most proud of the high number of Interns that run through my practice that go on to become excellent therapists and clinicians as well. I have multiplied myself and my impact through my mentorship programs and certifications.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Wearing many hats in the same few hours, hiring/firing are certainly the most unnatural part of my role, and taking on the energy of my team- if they have problems, I have problems. If their kids are sick, it’s like my kid is sick. But the good outweighs the bad every single day.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start with your exit strategy clearly in mind.
  2. There is no perfect time, location, software, or strategy- make a fast decision and make that decision the perfect one.
  3. Be the best at what you do. The rest will follow.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Atlanta is an amazing community to serve in any business. If you love what you do and do what you love, you never feel like you are working. I “work” a lot because what I do is one of my top values in life. My business life and my personal life are congruent, so they blend seamlessly together. That makes my practice a calling as much as it is a business.
