What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are an Executive Pan African Leadership Brand that offers transformational leadership programs for C-Suite, Senior Executives, and Middle Management. Through our sister brand RiseSchool we offer digital self-leadership programs for youth and professionals in Africa.

Tell us about yourself

While working at Strathmore Business School as the Advisor to the Dean and Vice Dean, Executive Talent Development, I felt the need to contribute more to the leadership space from a personal perspective, so I started Breakthrough Leadership Transformation Limited. What motivates me is the potential impact I could be making in the leadership of Africa and also the feedback I have been receiving over the last six years concerning the range of leadership programs we offer at Breakthrough Leadership Transformation Ltd.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

There is quite a number, the first being the first African woman leader to receive an award from World Women's Organization on 3rd December 2022. A second one is the launch of RiseSchool in 2021, our Pan-African digital leadership platform.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Managing a team successfully without drowning, managing cashflows in seasons of uncertainty like COVID.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a long-term vision to enable you to stay the course irrespective of the seasons.
  2. Have a personal Board of Directors to bounce off ideas and to keep you accountable.
  3. Leading with intention and as you rise, lift others.
