What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help women in menopause and peri-menopause maximize their quality of life through fitness and movement. Helping women navigate the challenges and rewards of menopause is my particular passion.
Tell us about yourself
I found my passion for menopause when I noticed that a lot of my clients and friends were going through menopause and were having a rough time. At that time (2010), I was at a point in my Ph.D. studies where I had to pick a topic for my dissertation, and I picked that. I conducted a study evaluating the impact of physical activity on quality of life during menopause, and that was the beginning of my path. Since then, I have focused all of my work and will continue to do so because I want to help women lead their healthiest and happiest life.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Seeing that the work I do has a positive impact. There is no better feeling than helping others.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Working too much. I love what I do, so I easily take on too many projects and ideas.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Schedule self-care and time to unwind and relax. Don't let others discourage you from pursuing your passion. Find a mentor and ask
