Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dr. Heith Root, Fellow, International Academy of Medical Acupuncture, Board-Certified Chiropractic Neurologist, located in San Antonio, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I help people get out of pain quickly, without drugs and without excessive treatments. My philosophy is that there is no singular formula that works for everyone; it has to be created on the spot, one person at a time. I use a unique combination of chiropractic, chiropractic neurology, acupuncture, and herbal/nutritional therapy to build a formula for each individual.

Tell us about yourself

What got me started working on my business was having nearly lost my thriving practice during the pandemic. I’m very motivated by seeing people get free from pain and movement problems and get their lives back.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is having created a referral-based cash practice that facilitates results.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Marketing.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have at least one mentor for the clinical side.
  2. Have at least one mentor for the business side.
  3. Have a system in place for evaluating patients before, during, & after treatment so that both doctor & patient know that there has been a change.
