What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a University of British Columbia (UBC) Certified Coach, as well as a faculty member in the Department of Educational & Counselling Psychology & Special Education at UBC. I am an organizational and individual coach whose clients come from all walks of life (from students to executives).
Tell us about yourself
As a part of a leadership development program, I had a coach provided to me, which helped me see the value and importance of coaching for personal and professional growth. I wanted to share this with others and build my skill set, so I decided to become a credentialed coach to work with others. I absolutely love working with people and helping them leverage their strengths to find solutions that move them toward their personal and professional goals.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is seeing clients achieve their goals and reach for new goals they never knew they had. I find this very personally and professionally satisfying.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Getting the word out about my services, in other words finding new clients and building up my business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get the information/education you need.
- Make sure it is a passion, as you will be spending a lot of time on it.
- Go for it!
