How To Change Your Stinkin Thinkin – Mindset Is Everything! Have you thought of being an entrepreneur but were unsure of the strategic steps to get there? Well, this article has tips to help you expand your mindset to grow your business.

Tell us about yourself

I bring 20-plus years of experience in business, management, and education. I spent the first 15 years as a mentor. In 2014, I had the opportunity to work with a University that allowed me to explore my gifts and start a business where I continue to serve youth, girls, and women of color between the ages of 10 – 25+.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As part of our 12 Plus City Tour for 2023 – 2027, I intentionally work with C-suite leaders (male and female leaders) that work with women of color in corporate spaces and educational institutions. We bring our programs and services to them worldwide, in person or virtually. I work closely with C-suite leaders to provide them with strategic tools to help schools and organizations create influential leaders, increase retention rates, and decrease drop-out rates.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being a business owner can be isolating. As I work with business owners, finding funding to support a for-profit business can be difficult. The focus is to engage and build a culture of camaraderie to reduce the Great Resignation through our Leadership Platform for Women of Color In Corporate Spaces.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your audience and customer.
  2. Focus on one idea at a time.
  3. Never forget your why.
