What's your business, and who are your customers?
We offer private concierge mental health interventions and treatment placement.
Tell us about yourself
I was inspired to open Doyen because individuals with primary mental health/trauma diagnosis's are an underserved population and are subject to the revolving door of hospitals and providers. Although I initially did not get involved in this field for purely altruistic reasons, I wanted to make sense of my own toxic upbringing; it became more altruistic over time as I saw so many people suffering. I believe our industry has some very outdated best practices, and this is what motivates me every day to find new unique ways to meet our client's needs.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Providing a working environment that is supportive, understanding, and puts its team members first, always.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
For me, it is hard for me not to take ownership of everyone's happiness. I want to see our team thriving, making money, and growing personally/professionally.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
You will succeed if you are living in your gifts. Remember to take care of yourself first and foremost, then your team members. A mantra I live by is, "What is in your best interest is in the best interest of the company," I encourage my team to operate from the same belief system.
