What's your business, and who are your customers?

Blue Collar Profits is a third-party consulting company who is customers are users of Service Titan software. We help our customers increase the utilization of the software and thereby increase their revenue and efficiency.

Tell us about yourself

Prior to doing what I do now, I worked in software support and onboarding with various other software. It's something I always enjoy doing where I like to share my knowledge with my customers and empower them to be better equipped in their roles. I started working with ServiceTitan early on in 2016 and left there at the end of 2019. I then went to work for blue-collar profits and shortly thereafter took over the business. I really enjoy doing what I do because it's very satisfying to see the results of your work in real-time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Taking over the business at the beginning of the COVID epidemic and then growing the business each of the last two years has been very satisfying. Having never been a business owner before, taking over in 2020 was daunting. To navigate and excel feels like a huge accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Self-promotion! Even though I feel strongly about the product we offer, it does not come naturally to me to sing my own praises.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Believe in yourself. If you have the drive and an idea, you can make something of it.
  2. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Most everything has been done before
    there are resources out there; use them.
  3. Take a chance. Going out on your own can be scary, but it is very rewarding.
