Boutique Bachelorette Events - Donna Van Wyk

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Donna Van Wyk, Owner of Boutique Bachelorette Events, located in Phoenix, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Boutique Bachelorette Events has been specializing in bachelorette yoga experiences in Scottsdale for nearly a decade. Over the years, we have added unique and fun group activities like yoga and wine, tarot card readings, hiking, massages, pool, pool barre, and good bath yoga.

The best thing about our company is that we come to your location and bring everything you need for the experience! We now have a large team of fantastic yoga teachers, intuitive readers, and sound healing specialists. Besides bachelorette events, we host yoga classes at birthday celebrations, girls' weekends, retreats, and even family get-togethers!

Tell us about yourself

I have always been an active and outdoor person. After I became certified as a yoga teacher, I spent three years instructing yoga at studios, offices, and private homes in Scottsdale. One day I got called out to teach at a bachelorette weekend, and the rest is history!

Almost a decade later, we are a growing team of over ten yoga teachers with additional skills and certifications like massage, intuitive readings, event coordinating, and guiding hikes. The best part is we all knew each other through yoga before we started working together. Yoga brings impressive people together!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is finding excellent women to work with and help me run my business. We are such a massive success because of the passionate and talented people that make up our team. I am fortunate to know every one of them!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The most challenging part about being a business owner is juggling the many responsibilities of the job. You must be prepared to "wear many hats" when running your own business!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Tips I would give to anyone who wants to start their own business:

  1. Find something you love to do.
  2. As your company grows, be willing to change and adapt.
  3. Be prepared to work very hard, but know it will all be worth it!
