What's your business, and who are your customers?
We provide event staffing and planning to customers who want to host or entertain a small event and enjoy it without worrying about the details that go along with a successful event. Our niche is small events of 2 to several hundred guests.
Tell us about yourself
As a young girl, I would assist my grandmother, who was a domestic worker. She taught me about planning, entertaining, and the importance of details. In 2001 a friend got stuck with hosting an event at his home and needed help. The calls have been rolling in ever since, and our niche has become popular in the DMV.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
We have earned the respect of every client we have ever worked for. Our attention to detail and professionalism provided is key to our success. Our clients are our advertisement. They spread the word.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Balancing my mission and the administrative work needed to run a business was hard because I was so busy establishing and making a name for the business. I couldn't do it alone. Consultants and social media coaching were a must.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
First, find your niche! Second, pick something that there is a need and a want. Third, Don't be good, be the best in your field.
