Tell us about yourself
My name is Tianna Jerome, and I am the CEO of Dom's Organics. I started working as a sales rep and marketing assistant at Dom's Deodorant in 2017, while I went to school for business and specialized in marketing. When our founder Dominica became extremely ill at the beginning of 2019, I began to take over the everyday operations at Dom's deodorant, with Dominica as my mentor.
Dominica passed away from Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 2020, and I now carry on her company's legacy.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Reaching the over 200 retail store mark!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Wearing all (most) of the hats in the business. It makes it hard to get caught up and not prioritize specific important tasks. Juggling many roles can be draining and limiting for your company.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make a marketing plan when launching. Your product won't automatically sell itself.
- Put in time and energy once you start it. It should be your main FOCUS if you want it to be successful.
- Always think smarter instead of working harder.
