Dreamality - Do It Hella Scared Coaching
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Niki Bilima-Bugingo, founder of Do It Hella Scared Coaching, located in Riverside, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am still pinching myself because I would have never imagined that I would be an entrepreneur at all. I had no intentions of starting a business because of the fact that it took me over 13 years to finally accept the mandate to face my fears and step out on my own and do the things that I knew God placed on my heart to do as part of my purpose. Do It Hella Scared was the command to provide support and strategies to powerful leaders and creatives who have been arrested by fear at various transition points in their lives to finally pursue their big, bold, scary God-dreams. Coming from an extensive professional background in Social Work and non-profit/ministerial experiences, I discovered my sweet spot in supporting my clients by building their confidence, identifying fears, and shifting those fears into fuel to pursue and build their dream life lived in everyday reality-- or what I call: Dreamality.
Tell us about yourself
After accepting my own personal mandate to "do it hella scared" and face my fears and go full throttle after my own goals and God-dream, that is when I made the most powerful decision to just START. Taking that first initial step for so many people, I've discovered, is the hardest but the most necessary. It also became so clear that the impact of being able to support amazing individuals as a Dream Pusher Coach went far beyond my clients and myself but also the lives attached to every single one of my clients for the better. One of the biggest and most precious surprises that I have experienced is the impact that my business has had on my family. My husband Kevin and I have been married for nearly 14 years, and we are blessed to raise two beautiful and intelligent daughters who are my inspiration every single day. I am committed to this work because it continuously expands me to be better and achieve more. My daughters are learning the valuable lesson through me to never count yourself out for any dream. One of my favorite sayings is if you can dream it, you can achieve it.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
One of my biggest accomplishments was launching a program in the middle of a global pandemic when the entire world was shutting down. It just didn't make sense to launch a business during such a devastating time of so much uncertainty. However, because of the pandemic in 2020, I had to quickly adjust and shift my entire program to a virtual program. What I didn't know was that this would completely shrink the world and allow me to virtually reach more people who were ready to go on the journey to detox from limiting beliefs. This program, in a matter of hours, generated $10k for my business in a pandemic.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner really is managing your energetics to keep a positive mindset. I have the crazy belief that any strategy can work; however, it is the mind that must remain focused to execute any strategy that supports what you are building. The second hardest thing that I have discovered was starting my business on my own. Every entrepreneur needs a coach and a community with people who are on the same journey to champion your efforts, reflect your power and brilliance, and be of support and share resources. This is what I believe is make or break. I have seen so many dreams die or return to the back burner due to the lack of being nurtured inside a community of support; it is vital to learn how to allow yourself to be supported because the truth is that there are people in the world who genuinely want to see you win and succeed.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
There is so much information out there on how to start a business, but I would again reiterate making the decision to be committed rather than motivated. Motivation comes and goes, but your commitment to your God-dream is what will take you all the way to Dreamality. Secondly, hire a coach. This is an investment in yourself that is invaluable for your own personal expansion to fully be the person who can manage your dream in its magnitude. Third, submit it all to God daily and many times, moment by moment. Lastly, as a bonus, DO IT HELLA SCARED. The journey of entrepreneurship is scary but what has served so many of my clients is the shifting of fear into fuel to simply: do it hella scared.
