What's your business, and who are your customers?

I own DigiVisi Ltd, which focuses on two areas of digital marketing: SEO and Google Ads. Our clients are companies with less than 250 employees, but often micro firms where every penny is hard to spend. We prove value very early on in any campaign.

Tell us about yourself

I always knew I was inclined to run a business, I just never knew what. Then, I ended up in digital marketing and used that skillset to go out on my own. But, in the world of digital marketing, many con artists sell what they don't know how to do - so this motivates me every day to grow a portfolio of clients who were failed in the past.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Earning a greater salary than when I was employed elsewhere.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Choosing the hours you want to work and sticking to them. Flexibility is a lovely dream when employed but a nightmare when running your own business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't rely on one revenue stream. Find the top three and improve them.
  2. Don't be on every social media channel. Choose one or two where your customers hang out.
  3. Focus on building strong relationships with your customers, so it makes it difficult for them to stop buying from you.
