What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am the creator of SERP, a technology brand with subsidiary companies, including an SEO agency, a digital publishing network, software development, and artificial intelligence.
Tell us about yourself
I am Devin Schumacher, born on June 10th, 1987, in Glendale, CA. I am an American Entrepreneur, Music Producer, Internet Personality, Actor, and Philanthropist. After studying business at the University of Colorado at Boulder, I moved back to Los Angeles, CA, to pursue music production, DJing, and entrepreneurship. I began creating content online that reaches millions of viewers a month and have grown my business into one of the top 10,000 websites on the internet.
In 2019, I founded SERP Media, a digital media and production company based in Los Angeles, CA, along with my childhood friends Anthony Yano Hays and Jason Adler. Together, we have produced, directed, photographed, and acted in content for brands such as Levis, Playstation, Victoria's Secret, Porsche, Old Man Saxon, DMOOSE, Vet Naturals, Disney, and more.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have won 5 "Two Comma Club" awards, produced music & music videos for well-known musical acts such as GEIST and Old Man Saxon, and oversaw an SEO agency with 20 full-time employees - all starting from zero. My work has been featured in festivals like The Austin Music Video Festival, Urbanworld Film Festival, and the Lower East Side Film Festival and is a part of the Forbes Councils, Baby Bath Water, and more.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Pushing forward in times of turmoil & uncertainty.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get started sooner.
- Learn to love the hard stuff and the failures and always go towards the pain.
- Focus on the BEHAVIORS - and the results will follow.
