What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is a Human Resource Consulting service that has specialized in providing professional human resource services to Yukon First Nations Governments.

Tell us about yourself

I have a broad range and depth of experience right from entry-level to Executive Director level in every aspect of Human Resource Management. I do this with a compassionate lens and a foundation in mental health psychology, valuable in an environment of colonization and historical trauma. I can connect with my clients wherever they are, on personal and professional levels.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The accomplishment I am most proud of is staying true to my values and ethics as a human resource professional and as a compassionate human being.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Managing paperwork and taxes - yuk!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure your business is something you love. That will get you over the tough times.
  2. Get help or assistance in the areas you are not strong in. The payoff will be significant.
  3. Always think about service. How can I better serve my client? Be creative.
