What's your business, and who are your customers?

We customize salon hair color for home use. The image you asked your hairdresser to mix your salon hair color to use at home that's what we do! All first orders, you meet with a hairdresser virtually who will determine if coloring your hair at home is the right option. Not everyone should color their hair at home. On our website, you can fill out our 1-minute color questionnaire to start.

Tell us about yourself

I've been a hairdresser for over 20 years, meeting and helping people feel great about their hair! I absolutely love it...over time, I realized more people who colored their hair at home than in the salon. I wanted to do two things.

  1. Help those who use box hair color upgrade to a professional color to use at home.
  2. Include the hairdresser to earn and prescribe the salon shade.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a business platform that has never existed before. Procuring hair color from Italy. Developing a website and creating a process that includes the hairdresser. Teaching hairdressers this will increase their salon traffic.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The freedom to work 60 hours a week! Seriously, the fear that I will not find a way to solve the challenges in front of me and let fear stop me.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Come join me!!
  2. Just because you don't know how to build what your dream does not mean it is impossible. It takes solving what is in front of you, one day at a time.
  3. Develop your core values to keep you motivated when uncertainty appears and creativity disappears. Once fear sets in, solving problems becomes difficult.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

When Karen Anne isn't shaping (and coloring) the future of her industry, she serves on the Board of Directors for Friends of Mandell Park, is a member of the Greater Houston Women's Chamber of Commerce, and is an alumnus of Leadership Houston Class XXIX. Karen Anne was listed among the Women of Excellence in 2010 by the Professional Referral Organization of Women, where she also previously served as Board President.
