Custom cakes, specializing in wedding cakes and styled dessert tables.
Tell us about yourself
Over 30 years ago, I decided to take a leap of faith, leave my corporate job and pursue my passion. My motivation for over 30 years has always been, as it is today, is to provide the absolute best service and product to my clients.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Difficult to say with over 30 years of being a small (tiny!) business owner because I'm lucky, I've had some cool accomplishments (Food Network gold medal!), but overall, I'd have to say bringing my passion to reality and turning a literal "dream" into a sustainable career, starting from nothing.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being a business owner!! Realizing that being a business owner is MUCH more than practicing your "craft." It is everything - and if you live in a region with snow and work out of your house where clients come to your residence, it means being in charge of snow removal! There is a lot behind the scenes!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Learn your comfort zone, stay in your comfort zone, find a cheerleader.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Volumes! But wouldn't know where to start! Although I am starting a "Business of Cake" blog, I am so happy to "find" you to learn from your community how to start a blog!
