What's your business, and who are your customers?

DEHR is an HR consulting business. We put the human in human resources. Using Emotional Intelligence training and coaching at the core, we build strong leaders, great teams, and a work culture that fuels success.

Tell us about yourself

Having worked for bosses who had little emotional intelligence, I know the impact of that kind of work life. With an M.A. in Clinical Psychology, more than a decade of teaching psych, and years of leadership experience, I knew that I could help individuals and businesses do better. I love that every day I help shift organizations to adopt healthy work cultures that drive performance, employee satisfaction, and their bottom line.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is helping other business owners not only make more money but create a workplace where their employees want to come to work every day and contribute to the overall success of the organization.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is that everything falls on you. I'm grateful that I thrive under that kind of pressure!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Create a work environment that fuels your employee's drive and motivation.
  2. Surround yourself with people who believe in you and will encourage you to stay the course.
  3. Learn to work ON your business instead of solely IN your business. Never stop learning.
