Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in public speaking but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Nicholas Kelly, Founder of Define Your Success LLC., located in Willoughby, OH, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is to inspire and motivate using public speaking as the tool to pass my experience, knowledge, expertise, and passion.

Tell us about yourself

My public speaking journey and how it came to be is unique. I started speaking ten years ago. My sister would always insist I tell my story. She would constantly say, "Nick tell your story; you could really help someone. Nick, tell your story. Despite all the times she advocated for it, I had no interest in doing such. When she passed, I was incredibly broken. Thus, the only thing that helped me start to heal was telling my story. It's funny because she would say, "tell your story; you could help someone" I never thought I'd be the one it was helping. This was my initial driving force to speak, and after my first speaking engagement, I instantly knew this was a passion I was meant to do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment was doing a Tedx Talk.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The gaps and sporadic nature of bookings.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be Consistency.
  2. Be Persistence.
  3. Be Passionate.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?
