Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lev Karasin, Founder of Dazzle Carpet Cleaning INC, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We're in the service-based business cleaning people's floors and upholstery. Our customers are residential and commercial; we clean condos, houses, restaurants, offices, and more.
Tell us about yourself
What got us started was that this was a business we could transform in the industry with exceptional customer service and an amazing team culture.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Our biggest accomplishment was being nominated for the People choice awards as well as exceeding our vision of the amount of customers that we have serviced to date, providing a cleaner environment and a healthier place to live in and work.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing is to keep going when times are hard or slow. When you start not being able to afford payroll, the challenge becomes what sacrifices you have to make in order for you to keep your team on.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be extremely knowledgeable; if you have the money, hire that knowledge.
- Be madly in love with what you're doing because when times are tough, motivation isn't enough.
- Do it for others, not for yourself.
