What's your business, and who are your customers?
We exist to provide creative teaching resources and inspirational children’s books that grow young children spiritually, socially, and academically so they can become fruit-bearing vessels.
Tell us about yourself
I spent many years as a mom, teacher, sales manager, and even a school principal. During that time, I searched for a purpose in the roles God had given me. He would fill and empty me again and again. These experiences became stories about clay vessels discovering their purpose. Each pot has a unique relationship to the potter; their stories represent the stories we sprout alongside our creator. Just as Little Pot grows strawberries, we can produce the fruit of the Spirit. Like a teapot, we were created to serve others. As an oil lamp gives light, we can shine. These characters and I help children grow physically, spiritually, socially, and academically. Each area leads to serving, shining, and bearing fruit for the potter.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The word accomplishment leaves the impression that something is finished and done. What I am accomplishing through this business is ongoing. Little Pot and the other vessels continue to impact children and help them have a better relationship with their creator.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
As a business owner that works mostly alone and online, the hardest thing is in finding motivation and getting assistance to learn new things.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The three things I think each business owner needs are courage, patience, and determination. It obviously takes time and money. Those that make it are those that never give up and adjust to changes. Join a community of like-minded persons and embrace collaboration and community over competition.
