What's your business, and who are your customers?

The Zechman Group was founded by me in 2019. It provides executive coaching, leadership development, and public speaking based on my new book: “Driven by Compassion - 8 Values for Successful Servant Leadership.” My customers are leadership from the C suite to the supervisory level.

Tell us about yourself

I prided myself on being a servant leader my entire career, starting with being a high school teacher and coach through my 37 years in healthcare, from serving as a supervisor to a CEO. I wanted to share my passion for this leadership style with all leaders, especially young and aspiring leaders. I enjoy sharing real-life challenges and solutions to help leaders become successful servant leaders.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Writing my first book with a successful launch.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Trying to find the marketing right marketing solutions that will reach the customer base that will be excited and passionate about my book, executive coaching, and leadership development that supports their success.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be cautious and thoughtful when deciding who and how to work with to market your product.
  2. Be willing to do some free work to grow relationships and service base.
  3. Be willing to put in an enormous amount of time in the beginning with little to no revenue.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Be patient and stay focused on your vision and mission, and do not take it personally when your product or service is rejected.
