What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Dave Sanderson Speaks International, and I work with entrepreneurs and organizations on how they can grow their businesses through execution, resourcefulness, and gratitude.

Tell us about yourself

I started my business shortly after I survived the plane crash known as the Miracle on the Hudson. I am grateful every day to have another opportunity to impact others' lives by teaching the 12 lessons my mentor passed on to me and made me promise to "not let it die with me."

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I was asked to speak to over 19000 service people.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that I had to overcome as a business owner was finding the right who's for my hows. I was getting sucked into too many tactical operations when I should have focused on the strategic mission of my organization.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. If you are not good at something, find someone who is and give it to them.
  2. Ask yourself every day," is this making my plane go faster or slower?
  3. Find and train a strategic assistant who can manage you so you can focus on the business.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My mission is to teach the 12 key success principles my mentor shared with me to 1,000.000 people in 10 years. These principles were taught to him in 1929 and then passed down to me. If you make your business mission-driven, as was shown during my experience of surviving the plane crash known as the Miracle on the Hudson, your business will grow, and you will impact more people than you could ever imagine.
