What's your business, and who are your customers?

Damasca is an independent Jewelry and Luxury goods brand founded in Doha, Qatar, and re-born in Barcelona. Our perfect clientele is in the Arab Gulf region that appreciate and fall in love with our luxury creations and feel proud about the heritage we are presenting through our timeless products. Naming our brand Damasca is the perfect homage to the world's oldest capital and the ultimate way to express our inspiration through our creations. This name is a tribute to the city where humanity was born, built and where it never dies. Stories from different cultures endure through our creations. We aim to create timeless contemporary pieces inspired by the story of our ancestors to be worn and inherited by generations.

Tell us about yourself

Creating cool stuff was my ultimate passion when I was a kid. This is how I founded Damasca while mixing my passion and the love of my childhood, Damascus City. The entire purpose of the creation of Damasca back then was about introducing the Damascene heritage through certain timeless contemporary pieces; today, we still do it but with a wider range of products that diversified our brand image.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

We are a brand unlike any brand in the industry – as the young generation founders, we believe that the future is brought through technologies and innovation. We at Damasca want to be the first in our industry to climb that ladder, which will be achieved by innovating our industry by implementing blockchain. Proudly Damasca is the first brand in the world to have its own crypto coin (DMSCA), the first to launch NFTs as authentication certificates for our artistic pieces, and finally, the first to have a virtual store gallery vision in the Metaverse. The main purpose of our initiative with our token is to encourage the industry in the near future to adapt their own currencies, and our second objective is to make the brand sell with its own currency, where our customers can purchase our artistic pieces through different sales channels using the DMSCA token. We want to build a community, Damasca Community which will create its own culture, own rules, and values, which will reflect our token in the markets.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a young founder of my passion, the most difficult in my case would be consistency and not giving up in the world with very aggressive competition.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top three tips to give to anyone who wants to do something, whatever it could be, goes as the following:

  1. Start.
  2. Don't give up.
  3. And be persistent.
