What's your business, and who are your customers?

I publish concise, mostly non-fiction books. My series of books include "Greater Than a Tourist," "Eat Like a Local," "50 Things to Know," and children's books.

Tell us about yourself

I started as an instructional designer. I finished my Doctorate in Educational Technology while raising my two girls and decided to publish a book I wrote. After I had written a few, I started to publish books for others.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I love that I can help others while working from home to be there for my family.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

As a business owner, the most challenging thing is the change that occurs daily. Each day I am faced with different issues, and I take the data that I can collect and try to create a solution.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

I would suggest starting many online businesses in which you can create a digital product at a low cost. I created online classes, digital content (blog, vlog), and eBooks, all at a very low cost except for my time. Since I have been doing this for over ten years, I went where the revenue was for me, which was online books, eBooks, and audiobooks.
