What's your business, and who are your customers?

Crystal MacGregor Consulting is a trusted nutrition consulting business specializing in recipe development, product development, marketing, and public relations. My mission is to empower individuals and food businesses to thrive through the power of nutrition. My clients include food manufacturers, restaurants, and other food-related businesses and individuals seeking expert guidance on nutrition-related matters. I am dedicated to providing high-quality, tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of each of my clients. With over 20 years of experience as a knowledgeable registered dietitian, I am well-equipped to handle any challenge and help clients achieve their goals.

Tell us about yourself

I am motivated by my passion for empowering others to thrive through the power of nutrition. As a multi-passionate registered dietitian with over twenty years of experience, I have had the privilege of working in a variety of innovative fields, such as the food industry, sports centres, and product development. Through my work as a food advocate, personal training specialist, and best-selling author, I have had the opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others. And as a former co-chair of Dietitians of Canada's Food & Culinary Network, I have had the honour of leading and inspiring others in the field. I believe that by sharing my knowledge and expertise, I can empower others to make positive changes in their lives and reach their full potential.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a business professional, I am deeply inspired by the opportunity to empower others through my work. Watching individuals and food businesses thrive is an incredible honour and privilege. I believe that business is about service, celebrating the success of others, and helping people live their best lives. Through my accomplishments, such as creating health and wellness programs that have impacted over 20,000 people and co-authoring a book, Uncover Your Light: Volume 1: Empowering Stories of Hope & Resilience, alongside 20 other accomplished businesswomen from around the globe, I can make a real difference in the lives of others. Through these experiences, I learn that by sharing my passion, light, and vulnerability, we can all pursue creating the life we want.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

It can be challenging to balance the responsibilities of running a side hustle business with my personal life and working full-time, especially when my business is in its early stages.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Ignite your passion and pursue your talents! Follow your heart and chase what brings you the most happiness.
  2. Believe in yourself and take action! You possess an immense amount of potential, and you don't have to have all the answers before beginning. Start now and let the journey be your teacher. Don't let anything stand in your way, especially not yourself.
  3. Seek out guidance and support from those who have already achieved what you desire and those who want to see you succeed. Having mentors, coaches, and supporters will be instrumental in your growth and progress.
