What's your business, and who are your customers?

CryptoConsultz offers services for individuals, blockchain organizations, and those looking to adopt the new technology into current business models. We help businesses create, accept, and utilize cryptocurrency tokens to improve and grow their business operations. Tell us about yourself

The story of CryptoConsultz starts the way every great story does– with a problem needing a solution. I became interested in cryptocurrency in 2015. As a single mom working as a nurse, I was eager to find other avenues to support my daughter. By 2016 I had built an 18 GPU mining operation and was mining Ethereum out of my garage. I know firsthand the challenges we face in an industry that's almost impossible to keep up with. Driven to make cryptocurrency education more accessible, I launched CryptoConsultz.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

In 2017, I finally saw the fruits of my labor. My mining operation was a success, and the price of Ethereum skyrocketed. It wasn't long before I was hacked for 323 ETH, nearly $600,000 by today's standards.

Overcoming this gut-wrenching setback is the accomplishment I'm most proud of today. The success of CryptoConsultz, though, can only be attributed to my team. We've got a diverse team of experts who are the building blocks of this business, and without them, I'd be unable to tell my success story.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

We've been in an unusual but advantageous position as a startup here at CryptoConsultz. As an early adopter and a leader in the crypto consulting industry, we've been fortunate enough to gain the attention of some major press. With the press coverage came an astronomical influx of new clients. While we are grateful, I'd say it's been a challenge to scale at that rate. Learning to work (and lean) on my team and stepping away from the role of a freelancer, and learning to delegate has been a steep learning curve. Luckily, I have some of the best talents in the industry, and I'm able to trust our clients are in good hands at each step along their journey with CryptoConsultz.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your "why." Why do you love what you do? What is your definition of success? Make this your compass and create a model that operates around this vision. Run your business the way you see it operating in 5 years. Think big, set goals, and build systems that are sustainable and repeatable, even as you scale.
  2. Recruit and invest in your team. There's far more value in building up and retaining the people who share your vision and passion for what you do. Build a team with a diverse skill set, including personalities that are dissimilar than yours. Realize you have as much to learn from your team as they have to learn from you.
  3. Make sacrifices early. Whether that means tightening up the budget, paying your employees more than you are making, or simply skipping that event all your friends are raving about, keeping your eye on the prize will pay off. Through hard work, a strong operational plan, and cultivating relationships, you'll have a strong foundation to lean on, freeing up space to work ON your business and not IN it.
