Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Dolce Conde, Founder of Crown Firm, located in Miami, FL, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run a consulting firm that specializes in female entrepreneurs, from start-ups to large corporations.
Tell us about yourself
I started my first company back in 2008 and my second company in 2012; after a few years, my friends started asking me for help in their own companies, and then they started recommending me to their friends, and in a very organic way, Crown Firm was created. I am very passionate about supporting other women in business because I have gone through the journey myself, and we, female entrepreneurs, face different types of challenges that require specific skills to properly balance our roles in our families and in our companies. I love when I see the results of my work on my clients making a positive impact not just on their businesses but in different areas of their lives as well.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Develop the processes and methodology to handle my professional life and my personal life properly. To achieve becoming a successful entrepreneur without compromising my priorities in life.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
As females, we naturally tend to navigate through a storm of fear no matter what season in life we are in and no matter our circumstances. When we add the variable of pursuing our dreams in the business realm, the uncertainty of the unknown can be overwhelming, and if we don't do it properly, it can bring more stress than satisfaction.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Seek help: We women try to do everything ourselves, but it is impossible and not recommended to have a first-hand experience on everything we need to learn; there is a path already walked by many; learn from the do's and dont's already passed by others.
- We are what we eat: This not only applies to food; what you feed to your brain and your soul will have a direct impact on your way of thinking, your power over your emotions, reactions, and of course, the way you make decisions in business and in life.
- Take care of yourself: This is one of the safety principles in a flight; put your oxygen mask first so you can help others to put theirs. Our society and culture tend to incentivize us to live a life of constant rush; it is critical as an entrepreneur to set time in our schedules to attend to what is important before we take care of what is urgent.
