What's your business, and who are your customers?
At CRMA Certs, we provide you quality education on Whole Person Health and skills training to your Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and other direct care professionals so they may, in return, support your individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who need assistance to live their lives and enjoy the same benefits as people without disabilities.
Tell us about yourself
Jen and I share a passion for elevating individuals through a transformative transfer of knowledge and skills. Together, we have been part of the residential care community for more than ten years and bring over 25 years of experience serving individuals. The institute is a step toward the couple's grand vision for the assisted living industry. Our passion and mission are to empower individuals to assist in helping them meet their potential, professionally and personally. We believe in this philosophy of empowering the individual through a clean and professional transfer of knowledge and skills in the community of clients we service in the assisted housing community.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Seeing the number of people we do business with (contracts) grow from 4 to 20 in one year.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Keeping calm. Taking things one step at a time. Branding to resonate with potential versus expressing oneself through one's business.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Learn to calm down under pressure.
- Seek a network of like-minded professionals and be authentic with them.
- Be frugal. Learn to do the most with the least, but do not turn people off with your frugality.
- Learn how to pitch your business in 60 seconds.
