What's your business, and who are your customers?

We provide professional and safety training. Effective Leadership, Team Culture, OSHA 10 & 30 hour General Industry, Business Ownership. My customers are corporations, working teens, veterans (incl homeless), underemployed and unemployed, and specialty trades.

Tell us about yourself

I was thrown into entrepreneurship when my child support was cut off in 1987. I started a wakeup service and contracted myself out to one-man businesses. In 1994 God gave me my commercial cleaning company(now closed); from the cleaning company, I created an environmental service program and taught it to homeless veterans and ex-offenders in Florida. I became an authorized OSHA trainer in 2008, and now training is what we do. I created a dba, SUCCESS Training Academy for Another Chance, with plans to franchise the first one in 2023, and I also have a licensing program to train others to teach any one of my other programs.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is helping individuals come into their own with better-paying employment that allows them to be sustainable. Also, helping individuals bring their business idea to life thru my 8-week business ownership program.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is consistent residual and financial stability.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. It is a dream you have, and you would roll over in your grave if you never give it a try; GO FOR IT.
  2. People will think you are crazy for starting a business, but if God is leading you and it's your purpose. DO IT.
  3. As a business owner, there will be moments when you feel all alone, but always keep in mind what your impact will be for others waiting for what you offer.
