interPURPOSE ADHD Coaching - Connie Kuipers
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Connie Kuipers, Founder of interPURPOSE ADHD Coaching, located in Toronto, ON, Canada.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I provide ADHD Coaching for young people and adults who are crafting their lives to thrive with their ADHD or other neurodiversity. The people who work with me are students, parents, and adults in careers. I work with students in Middle School, Secondary School, College, and University - learning to highlight their strengths and address the mismatch between neurodiverse modes of being and doing to conventional academic and workplace expectations and cultures. I work with adults in careers, parents with ADHD parenting kids with ADHD, and adults in transition between school, jobs, and relationships.
Tell us about yourself
I am a trained Life Coach and ADHD Coach. I also have a neurodiverse brain, diagnosed later in life. I am a parent, entrepreneur, and big-picture thinker. I love working with other neurodiverse people because it's endlessly fascinating to explore how people have gotten to where they are through their own ingenuity and also explore ways to bring down stress and negative self-talk in order to craft a life that is just right for them.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment has been the results that my clients are seeing: less stress at work and school, more confidence, getting more done, adding more enjoyable things to their days, and more wonderful things. I grew my client base by word of mouth and some decent Google Business strategy.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is tooting my own horn. Marketing and getting the word out can be tough. Hence this!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My top 3 tips for anyone starting a business today are to:
- Find a community of people to be either mentors, sounding boards, hype people, colleagues, and friends who are also growing businesses and support each other.
- Sell your strengths and hire your weaknesses - when you can afford to, hire someone who can take on the boring, repetitive, or time-consuming things that are not your core business.
- Hire a coach - one who really understands you and what you want to accomplish and can give you a place to make your own choices and help you craft your plan.
