Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business consulting and services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Cody Adent, President and CFO of Vibrant Management, located in St. George, UT, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
We enjoy strategically working with boutique properties that have depth and character. Vibrant was created solely to manage Cliffrose hotel in Springdale, UT. Shortly after, the realization came crashing in. There is a significant void across the board where our abilities could make a noticeable difference. Several years later, we are confident in our capabilities based on our experience to provide clients with more than traditional Hotel Management, Marketing, and Consulting companies offer. Vibrant was co-founded in the Spring of 2018 and has expanded to our current team with a robust diversity of skill and talent that allows us to serve a variety of businesses. In addition to our incredible properties throughout Southern Utah, to a fishing lodge in British Columbia, a well-being line based in Maui, Hawaii, to a luxury touring company in Park City, Utah, we bring the team, the fun, and the process.
Tell us about yourself
Growing up, I developed a love for sports and started learning the power of winning and losing. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit—one that motivated my desire to skip college, creating my first business at just nineteen years old. I am currently the President and CFO of Vibrant Management, a hospitality management company based in St. George, Utah. Vibrant's mission is to "Create a Place Where Dreams Become Reality," and they build brands and digital footprints for properties that are ready to be industry leaders. What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I would have to say it's the accumulation of everything I have accomplished since I first became an entrepreneur at 19. All my trials and tribulations have now come together. I am a published author, with my first book, Winning The Moment, coming out in January. It had always been a lifelong dream to write a book and become an author. I couldn't be more excited to share my story in the hopes that it can be of assistance to someone else during their journey.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
In business and life, you don't know what you don't know. And that, I think, is the hardest part of being an owner; you will be faced with a multitude of situations you are unsure of how to handle because you have never been in that spot before. I believe you have to trust your heart and go with your gut because, right or wrong, you will always be making progress. And that is the evolution of being an entrepreneur.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Ensure you have a long enough runway(capital).
- Determine your niche, core values, 1-year, 3-year, & 5 goals before you start.
- Surround yourself with people who fill in your holes and make you better.
