What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a life coach for parents, and my business is Coaching With Linette H. My customers are parents that need a solid support system to balance work and home life, amongst other things.
Tell us about yourself
I am a single parent with mental illness raising two high-functioning autistic with mental illness adolescents and a typical preschooler. I created the platform for parenting with mental illness as a way to provide support for others in my shoes. No one should feel alone. After almost two years of posting on my platforms, I decided I wanted to find a way to create income for my family while helping others. I then became a certified life coach. I love using the lessons I've learned to help others reach their goals and have a smooth balance in life. I am motivated by the change I see in my clients and myself.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I have the freedom to provide for my family while helping someone grow. I am taking care of my home while transforming others.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I need help with sticking to my work hours. I am always there when my clients need me. I automatically go into work mode and love it, but I must learn how to turn it off.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Consistency is critical. This doesn't happen overnight for most. Please be prepared to show up daily.
- Motivation is essential. If you don't keep this in the forefront, the stress over the steps needed to get your business where it should be can get to you.
- Time management.
